Happy National Principals Month! We are celebrating our incredible Ames principal who leads the school with dedication and inspires teachers, staff, and students every day. Take a moment to recognize and thank Principal Gierman when you see him! As many of you know, Mr. Gierman will be retiring at the end of the school year in June 2026. We are so grateful for his 13 years of leadership at Ames! The district is beginning its search for the next school principal. Join Superintendent Martha Ryan-Toye at the next PTA Meeting in November at 7:00PM for a parent focus group to share what qualities you would like to see in the next Ames principal. 2nd grade scientists examined how large structures like houses are built from smaller pieces. In the activity, they designed their own structures using an unconventional building material: paper! They were challenged to build towers strong enough to support a book. #amesdolphins
