Ames Elementary School – Student Attendance Times (2025–2026)

Arrival & Start of Day

• 7:50 AM – Students arrive and line up by grade

• 8:00 AM – Students enter the building

• 8:10 AM – 3:00 PM – Instructional day for Grades K–5

Early Learners

• AM Session: 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM

• PM Session: 12:15 PM – 2:45 PM

Lunch & Recess

• 11:20 AM – 11:50 AM

  • K, 2, 4 eat lunch

  • 1, 3, 5 have recess

• 11:50 AM – 12:20 PM

  • 1, 3, 5 eat lunch

  • K, 2, 4 have recess

Dismissal

• 3:00 PM – Students exit the building

K–5 Bell Schedule – Ames Elementary (2025–2026)

• 8:00 AM – First bell: Students enter the building

• 8:10 AM – Second bell: Instruction begins

  • Students must be in class by 8:10 AM to avoid being marked tardy

• 3:00 PM – Dismissal

Taking Your Child Home for Lunch

• Pick-up time: 11:20 AM (from the Ames office)

• Drop-off time: 12:20 PM (back at school)

Note: Only students staying at school for lunch can join lunchtime recess.
