The safety of our students is of the utmost importance and is our number one priority at Ames.  If you are driving your child to school please drop them off at the main entrance walkway.  Do not drop-off or pick-up your child in the parking lot located behind the school.  

• The drop-off and pick-up line is in the right lane, closest to the school.

• Please keep the traffic moving at all times.

• Do not block neighboring driveways or crosswalks at any time. Leave space for vehicles to enter and exit driveways.

• Do not park in the drop-off or pick-up line or exit your vehicle for any reason.

• Students must enter and exit vehicles on the passenger side only.

• Once you drop off or pick up your child, exit the school area using the left lane.

• If you do not see your child outside, please circle around the block. Do not wait in the pick-up line for your child to exit the building.

• If you need to exit your vehicle to buckle your child into a safety or booster seat, please park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk to the front of the school to pick up your child.

• Cell phone use while driving is prohibited in school zones. This is a state law and will be enforced by the Riverside Police Department.

• Our goal is to keep the car line moving safely and efficiently while ensuring the safety of our students, staff, families, and neighbors.
