Welcome to the Art eLearning Page for Ames and Blythe Park

Dear Ames and Blythe artists,

I hope you have all been staying healthy, happy, and safe. I really miss seeing you all in the art room and can’t wait until we are back at school making art together.
Please see the past updates below. Have a great summer break!

5/22/2020 Update - A note about student artwork:
I know many of you have picked up your student belongings from school already. You should have received your artwork along with your personal belongings. Usually, we make portfolios at the end of the school year, but unfortunately we didn't get the chance to do that this year. Many of our wonderful paraprofessionals helped me sort through the artwork to return to all of you.
About the kiln-fire clay projects -
  • One of the fifth grade classes did not receive their clay projects because I was not able to finish firing them. My plan is to fire those pieces in the fall and bring them over to Hauser to return them to you.
  • If you received your clay piece but it's unfinished (you didn't get a chance to glaze it at school), you might consider painting it at home with some acrylic paint and finishing it with an acrylic gloss finishing spray.
  • If anyone is missing their piece, I apologize. Please know that I plan to order extra clay for next school year so that anyone who lost a piece can make a new one.

Virtual Art Galleries:

Please consider posting your artwork in these shared albums:

Ames Virtual Art Gallery

Blythe Park Virtual Art Gallery

On the art gallery page, you can check out the artwork that other students from school have created as well! Think about leaving a positive message for someone else about their art. Kind words can have a huge impact and help build up our community while we are apart from each other! Please stay connected! And as always, feel free to email me with questions or concerns.

Have fun creating and stay safe!
