Time to practice finding area and perimeter of rectangles!
*Area= space inside of a rectangle
Length X Width = Area
*Perimeter=distance around a rectangle
Side + Side + Side + Side = Perimeter
1. find a ruler or a tape measure at home
(if you do not have a ruler or tape measure at home, I have attached one to print at the bottom titled 'Ruler')
2.find a rectangle in your house (tv, table, book)
3. calculate the perimeter and area of the rectangle, record it on a sheet of paper
4. go outside! find a rectangle outside (brick, table, chair)
5. calculate the area and perimeter of the rectangle, record it on a sheet of paper
