Please plan and make every effort to drive by Ames on Thursday, May 21st from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Staff will be handing out your child's belongings and collecting library books and textbooks (math hardcover book and ReadyGen Unit 3 text collection). You will be contacted at a later date regarding iPad collections. 
 
 
Below you will find the updated Learn at Home Mat. 
 
 
Please plan to pick-up your child's iPad on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 from 1-3 p.m. The schedule is as follows:
 
Last name beginning with A-D: 1:00 - 1:30 p.m.
 
Last name beginning with E-J: 1:30 - 2:00 p.m.
 
Last name beginning with K-P: 2:00 - 2:30 p.m.
 
Last name beginning Q-Z: 2:30 - 3:00 p.m.
 
 

 

 

 

 

Dear First Grade Families, 

 

On Wednesday March 18th, we will begin our eLearning procedures. Parents are encouraged to stop by and pick-up materials needed for the next few weeks (March 18th – 20th, March 30th – April 4th, and April 6th) of learning at a distance. The designated pick-up times for First Grade materials are on Wednesday March 18th from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. & 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at Ames Elementary School. Please make sure to pick up your child’s packet during one of these times.

 

The envelope that was given out in December contains the activities that need to be completed on Wednesday March 18th and Thursday March 19th. If you misplaced your packet, you will find an additional copy of all the activities in the envelope available for pick up on Wednesday March 19th. (Please complete only one set of these activities.)

 

            In your child’s envelope to be picked up at Ames, you will also find all of the eLearning materials/resources to be used March 20th – April 6th. There is a “Learn At Home Mat” that guides each day’s instruction. The mat is organized by day and subject (the dates are located at the top of each column). Subjects include reading, writing, math, phonics, social studies, and science. For each day you will see a “must do” and “may do” activity. The students are expected to complete each “must do” activity and have the option to complete a “may do” activity. We are encouraging students to complete the “may do” activities. For social studies and science, there is a single activity assigned for each day that must be completed. Each subject has its own stapled packet containing all of the resources needed to complete the assigned activities.

 

            A SeeSaw code that allows students to complete activities from home can be found in the informational envelope as well. Please look for an Epic! invite via email that allows students to access their Epic! profile from home. If you need your child’s Raz-Kids login, please do not hesitate to ask.
